I have a really huge library of movies and tv, I think it might fill up the chromecast storage.
Can I mount external storage with a USB dock and tell Kodi to store thumbnails and metadata on the USB stick?
(Let's assume it's a good quality, reliable, fast USB stick in a good quality dock?)

I moved the Thumbnails folder to a network share. It worked fine. One path substitution in advancedsettings.xml, and it was good to go.

Can you do it locally? I'd prefer the performance of a local USB disk.
I would imagine SSH in is no longer viable anymore either?
