Kodi freezes during playback
#1
Hello,

I recently upgraded my Kodi version to install Matrix 19.0 on a Windows 10 NUC.

And unfortunately, on almost every video I playback, Kodi freezes and then crashes.
Do you have any clue on why, or any similar feedback to mine?

Feel free to ask me any details, and I'll try to do my best.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Hello,

Here is the link for the logs : https://paste.kodi.tv/ucihugisax.kodi

Timestamp may be a little off as the PC has a bios battery issue.

Let me know if you need more info

Have you got some news about this issue?

System has 4.0 GB of RAM installed, Desktop Resolution: 3840x2160 32Bit at 29Hz with Intel® HD Graphics 500 laptop graphics can access up to 1.7GB of shared memory, not sure you have enough to keep Kodi up at these resolutions. Most of your log is network errors, suggest that you keep a test video in a local source and play from that video, hardware issues (gfx engine) become suspect if playing locally doesn't cut it.

This is on Windows 10, I can't see my DVD Menus i just have to hit play and set everything from video bar, and this goes on all the time i am thinking about doing a fresh install off the previous version i know no help without the log i totally agree no help for me BUT his problem is not a single event, unless its 2 single events cross platform

You should have, as it contains several add-ons with video piracy intentions. Which is a bit weird as you are linking the banned add-ons wiki page in your signature for some odd reason.

Also don't splatter log lines into the forum if you're gonna paste the log itself anyway.

This was a clean install, did not work very well, only have adult repo adult dvdempire videodevil, Rapier Skin
after i finished with the path to videos movies music and so on, i turned on debug log, shut down kodi started kodi went to my music videos and started playing about 5 sec then hit next music video well i think i got to 5 music videos then crash

I did notice something in the log just a small thing but 20 years ago when i was programing in delphi you never used both lowercase and uppercase for the same command and i found out you guys mostly use lowercase buth the path to
F:\Programs\Kodi\system\Python\Lib is using uppercase for Lib folder in the log all exept one is lowercase, not sure if its a big deal or just some code cleaning 25 years ago it was a big deal or atleast so we where told by our teacher always use the path in the correct way and you guys have Lib folder with uppercase but in the log i only found 1 this one
F:\Programs\Kodi\system\python\Lib
that is spelled the correct way
the rest of the commands are spelled with lowercase
F:\Programs\Kodi\system\python\lib\site-packages

Path below is how my Kodi folder names are
F:\Programs\Kodi\system\Python\Lib
F:\Programs\Kodi\system\Python\DLLs

F:\Programs\Kodi\system\python\lib\site-packages<-- see lowercase
F:\Programs\Kodi\system\python\Lib<--- uppercase correct path to the Lib
prob does not matter one bit for the rest of the log seems to be having prob with the video codecs and some buffer issues as i said clean install no "bad" addons well 1 repo the adult but i hope this helps

Nothing is a clean install if you install additional add-ons.

2021-03-20 16:03:08.031 T:11500 INFO <general>: CAddonMgr::ADDON::CAddonMgr::FindAddons: plugin.video.videodevil v1.8.11 installed

Still on the list of banned add-ons.

Just as an FYI, Windows is not case-sensitive when it comes to paths or filenames.
