Can anybody tell me if its possible to install new/ blank ssd into Asus chromebook cn60 thats had Chrome os removed and then install Ubuntu from usb drive.

Assuming you installed my custom coreboot/UEFI firmware, then yes, the box now functions just like a normal PC.
