3d for Linux
#1
I know - it's of no use to put this topic on the wishlist, but i'd really love to have 3d-support on my Lubuntu-Kodi-system.

For a non-programmer it seems easy to implement this feature, but i know there are problems with FFmpeg.
One should think there is no trouble since frame-packing is part of the HDMI-protocol for more than 10 years. And it is hard to believe that its that impossible to give out a 1920x2205-picture with a signal which triggers the 3d-playback. But it is the sad reality.

So just for the statistics - 3d for Linux would be great! Big Grin

I'd say, get yourself a RPi3B+ and LibreELEC 9.2.

And yes, 3D is kinda on the way out. Not many new TVs are still supporting it.

I agree, I have a pi 3b running on a projector- but it has a HDD connected to it as the network adapter on the pi3b is technically connected as a usb 2.

This for me works fine for a blu ray 3d collection
Server: Ubuntu Server 22TB HDD running SAMBA
Kodi: 4 Raspberry Pi 3 running Libreelec -  on the main PC - running Linux Mint
