I created an application launcher with a 10 foot user interface called Flex Launcher, which I use to launch Kodi and other applications on my HTPC. In the past, I had tried using the Advanced Launcher/Advanced Emulator Launcher Kodi plugins to launch applications, but they didn't give the exact functionality that I wanted. Flex Launcher is a standalone, lightweight launcher that can start any arbitrary Windows or Linux application. It supports gamepad controls, submenus, and the user interface is highly customizable. It's completely free and open source. The source code is available on GitHub for anybody that is interested.

There is documentation that explains how to configure and set up up Flex Launcher. You can also reply to this thread and I will provide support.
