TMDb TV Shows: How to separate Eden from Eden
#1
Dears,
Some TV Show Titles are not really innovative. In 2021 there were even 2 Shows named "EDEN".

Anime (4 Episodes):
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/92584-eden?language=de

Mystery Series (8 Episodes):
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/127041-eden?language=de

Is there a smart way, how to structure Files and folders to allow the Scraper coming to the correct result?? Usually both folders are imported to the library as one show with 12 Episodes...... Sad

No, there is nothing you can do to the folder and file structure.

But you can use the following workarounds...
1. Use a Parsing NFO file which will point the scraper to the correct listing... https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/Parsing
or
2. Using TheMovieDB Python scraper, use the Search function and enter the ID... https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:The_Movie_Database_Python

Thank you Karellen!
The workarounde with the TMDB Link in the tvshow.nfo was the solution!

But for curiosity: Were can i find "the ID" of a specific show on themoviedb.org?? i cannot see such information. Just: Original Title, Status, Station, Type, Original Language and Key Words....

Kind Regards,

In the address bar.
The blue highlight tells you if it is a tv show or movie.
The yellow highlight is the ID

What I recommend you do in that situation is check out the entries for both shows on TMDB website, and click the "Alternate Titles" links. One of those shows didn't have any as of yet, but the other (the Australian show) did.  Unfortunately, when I web-searched for "Eden (AU)" which was listed as the alternate title, the television show still showed up second (because of the way TMDB has trouble with matching titles with short names).

So what you do when you find the alternate titles don't work either, just log yourself into TMDB and create your own.

I created one for each that work just fine:  "Eden (Australia)" and "Eden (France)"

Just name your files accordingly, and you won't need to edit any .NFO files.
