On the App Store there is an app, official kodi remote. Is this the real thing and works? I was previously told I had to jailbreak my iPad/iPhone but it seems to load up fine.

 tried the kodi search and it didn’t see my shield pro kodi setup, not sure if it works that way. I search around this forum and was confused if it was the same so hope I’m in the right section.

This is the "Official" remote for ios. If thats the one you found, you are on the right track.

To be able to find your Kodi setup and to connect to it you need to apply certain settings on your Kodi system: https://kodi.wiki/view/JSON-RPC_API#Enabling_JSON-RPC. The same Infos are also given in the App on the screen which allows to search Kodi instances in your network.
