When configuring IPTV simple on a firestick, it is impossible to navigate to a local M3U playlist path under General and to a local XMPTV path under EPG. When choosing for the root drive, nothing shows up and nothing happens, despite the firestick setting that gives KODI permission to access storage. Also it is impossible to manually enter a local path like it can be done for the URLs for a remote path location.
There are solutions for Shield where KODI permissions must be set to "always on" and not "only while using the app", but firestick does not have these options. The only options are "allow" and "deny". 
Any help is appreciated.
