Hi,

I wonder if it would be possible to write an automatical updating procedure for installed plugins or scripts. For example you go to your video plugins menu, select some update function and XBMC checks your plugins with a server where all current versions of the plugins are stored. Similar what the XBMC Addon Installer is doing just with the additional checking mechanism. Maybe it would also be possible for the authors to mark some plugins as not working anymore and they are for example disabled until an update is released.

it's possible, but that is up to the author to add, xbmc shouldn't handle that. will just make a mess. there will be a new installer which will have "update addons" functions
