It was about time to replace my 2018 Samsung 82" TV so after some deliberation I drilled down to this one.
This will be a very short review.
Since ...
I already had an 82" of course it had to be bigger.
Samsung won't do Dolby Vision that knocked out Samsung
LG WebOS is based on PalmOS that knocked out LG
That left me with few decisions, I'm not a Sony fan and TCL's prices seem too cheap to be a quality display but admittedly I've never owned one.
And so, I landed this one
Hisense 100U8K 100"
Native Dolby Vision, 4K ULED, Local Dimming Microled
Dolby Atmos and DTSX support
Android TV OS 12
MediaTek mt5896

Short review of installing Kodi onto this device:
Kodi (21.0-BETA3 (20.90.830) Git:20240220-e085b62f10)
Only has 1 GUI Resolution, 4K60
No Whitelist
No Atmos Passthrough
No DTSX Passthrough
No native DolbyVision playback, you must enable "Compatibility Mode" in order for it to play at all or you get a black screen only with sound.
Short results:
Simply Epic display but don't bother trying to use it with Kodi installed onto it, just use an external device.
