It looks to me that the individual folders were not added as separate sources, instead it looks like the whole USB drive was added as the single source My Passport.

Thanks for your feedback
Should I uninstall Kodi and then reinstall it again to fix this problem?
To add a source I followed this procedure. Is it valid?
for the management of video Sources everything can be done through the interface for all Kodi (windows, android, linux....)
Settings / Media / Media Library / Videos Long press on the source name and there is a menu to manage

Isn't this how removal drives always work?
When connected, they automatically get mounted similar to normal drives, rather than as sources.
You can then browse to their content and set things up in the normal way by marking the relevant folder as either TV shows, movies etc and setting a scraper.
If you want to remove the source, browse to the folder in the file tree and then change its' content setting from whatever media is in it to none.

I managed to remove the source by going to change the analysis mode and put none, this deletes all the media folder. Finally I did not make an error when adding a source, long press on the folder to add as new content... I just noticed that the folder added does not appear as a source folder, for example "HD Movies " in the explorer but my Myppaport external usb drive then the folder add it is not at all like on PC. I don't know if I was clear but that said it works.

On the other hand, when I added the same source that I had deleted the tags such as the reading of films and series remains so it does not reset the reading positions.

Yes, this is what I said before. Basically you're not really adding or removing a source, all you're doing is changing the content of one (the WD drive in this case) as the actual source (the drive) is there all along.
Thread marked solved.

Because the different OS's handle mounted/connected USB drives differently.
As I said before, under Android it's not a source, it's a mounted drive. If you want to "remove the source", you have to unmount and/or unplug the whole drive.
