Solved Issue - Kodi only occupies a quarter of the screen
#1
Up until yesterday there were no problems, but since today when Kodi is running in 4k resolution, the image only occupies a quarter of the screen, the top right corner. I am attaching log files and a screenshot.
Additional details:
Kodi version: 20.2.0
Device: Raspberry Pi 5
Operating system: LibreElec 11
TV model: Sony 65A75K

Steps to reproduce the issue:
Launch Kodi
Set the display resolution to 4k
Observe that the image only occupies a quarter of the screen

Attached files:
Kodi log file
Screenshot showing the issuehttps://ibb.co/YZ7r697

Please let me know if you require any further information.

Additional notes:
I have tried restarting Kodi and my device, but the issue persists.
I have also tried changing the zoom and scaling settings in Kodi, but this does not resolve the issue.
I am able to watch 4k videos in other media players without any problems.

I whitelisted the tv resolutions
4096 x 2160p (24, 50, 60 Hz), 3840 x 2160p (24, 25, 30, 50, 60, 100, 120 Hz), 1080p (24, 30, 50, 60, 100, 120 Hz), 720p (24, 30, 50, 60 Hz) but, as you can see for this movie, this looks as a Kodi issue. Sony tv receives a wrong [email protected] image.
I also tried all types of zoom but none of it worked. I attach 2 screenshot from the same movie.

I did a getedid create but nothing change.

In the log file I see :

debug <general>: EGL Debugging:
Error: EGL_BAD_SURFACE
Command: eglSwapBuffers
Type: EGL_DEBUG_MSG_ERROR_KHR
Message: dri2_swap_buffers

And I think this is bad. I'm restoring kodi from a previous working image, hoping this works ...

So, these are the steps I follow to fix it:
- applied an old working image using Win32DiskImager
- removed a 4k hdmi matrix

Now it works.
