Hi all,
XBMC Beta 1 LiveCD for Linux installed on USB stick refuses to recognize the inserted CD or DVD. No matter whether audio CD, DVD or a CD with an .AVI file is inserted, playback does not start (although "autorun" is selected for all media) and when using "Add Source -> DVD", XBMC responds with the message "Please, insert disk".
Tried this on two different PCs - one has nForce chipset with Asus IDE DVD drive and another is all-Intel chipset with LG IDE DVD drive - same behavior. Tried both default libata drivers (DVD drive becomes /dev/sr0) and manually switching to old IDE drivers over SSH (DVD drive becomes /dev/hda) - same behavior. Checked system logs over SSH - nothing at all, as if the drive does not report that a disk has been inserted. When a disk with an .AVI file is manually mounted using SSH console, XBMC plays it fine. Any ideas what may be causing this?
Just as a side note, both PCs auto-play all three mentioned disk types using GeeXbox (kernel 2.6.25.9 with old IDE subsystem).
Thanks in advance,
Assen Totin
