digitalhigh Wrote:Program seems to be hanging on this URL:

Code:
http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/w.html"><img SRC = "thumbs/imp_w.jpg" BORDER = 2></A><A HREF = "w_ver2.jpg

It doesn't crash, it just sits there trying to download it till I manually close the progress window.

ok, i see the problem

as a workaround, remove w.xml from the poster xml folder
<install dir>\xmls\posterxmls\w.xml

I'm reparsing the impawards site now, it'll take a few hours to generate the xmls

I believe what maxposure is experiencing is what was happening to me. After selecting a file it starts to download and at least for me once it would download all I would do was click fanart or posters, and then it would crash. I haven't updated the patch yet, as I'm encoding on that pc right now. Will try either later on tonight or tomorrow once encoding is done.

not sure what caused that crash.. try to gather as much info as possible if it happens again, with any luck windows will output the details as to what component crashed.. it's not the xml issue that digitialhigh ran into, unless a download dialog was closed, then it could be the thread not being closed gracefully..

while i'm fixing the xml issue, i'm going to change the way I load posters for impawards to using the id number first, that should display way more posters then by name as numbers are spelled out in the name and not in the movies (usually)

More posters? Effing sweet. Although you realize that everytime you give me more options, I feel compelled to go through my whole library again and make sure I've got the coolest poster/backdrop combination possible. And now with the studio thing...dude. I'm so glad to have this program...trying to do everything manually would be impossible...

so what's the studio option for again? something in a skin that displays the logo?

any parameters for that one?

Obviously, Disney, warner Bros, and Paramount are going to be studionames supported...I PMed him asking about the specifics...which studios had images, if it were set up where you could add additional studio images, how specific the names have to appear...should get a response sometime soon.

It would be nice if (when more info is available) it would be possible to make a list of studio names to auto-grab if found in the companycredits page. Hit autopilot and bam...you've got all your studios set. Wink

Cool.. that should work nicely with the media data being in the .nfo's as part of the hd tagging thanks to CapnBry and all the work he's been doing on it.

Here's the example (actual output from MIP) http://pastebin.com/f6f045b3f

and the thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=30419

Does XBMC make use of that information when it scans the movies?

If so, you should make sure DJH knows about this. Last time he mentioned the media info images, I thought he said that the folders or possibly movie files had to be tagged for Bluray, DVD, DTS, etc...if that's still the case, this could be a possible workaround.

So do I have to put in the movie name now that it's a bluray rip or not? So many options, I don't know what to do.

Another quick question, I was reading that IMDB doesn't allow scraping anymore on their site, and that XBMC wasn't going to support it. How does that affect us using MIP? I also read that Amazon is going that route as well or rather they have a 3 month thing going on in regards to scraping content.

Error Message (Don't know what other Image hosting site we use so I put it on ImageShack.)

Can you send me the two temp files referenced in that error.

IMDB has guidelines and details on what can be used, MIP follows those as outlined in the list files.
Amazon is out, I have no way to purge data after 3 months.

Fekker,

Ok Vista64x defaults 32 bit installations to c:\Program Files (x86).
64 bit installations are defaulted to c:\Program Files. So that patch you made for x64 bit was installed into c:\Program Files, and MIP was installed into c:\Program Files (x86).

When I installed the debug program, it tried to right it's files into c:\Program Files\movieinfoplus, which inturn caused an error because the path doesn't exist. I have to run out real quick, but I'll be back and I'll reinstall MIP to the default x64 directory, and see what happens.

So I setup everything default to c:\Program Files ran the debug and I get this error msg.

Code:
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Could not find file 'c:\program files\movieinfoplus\tmdbapiv2key.txt'

It didn't create a debug folder. I then clicked details and got this:

Error Msg

So what I did was create a blank tmdbapiv2key.txt file in the that directory. Then I was still getting an error msg. So I created a debug folder in that directory, and I got four files. After the movied loaded, I went into fanart saw the art and as soon as I went back into current movie view. It crashes, that is where it crashes for me all the time.

Here are the output files

*Note with the v2377 I have no problems.

Awesome.. that's what I needed.. i'll have a build up later tonight that will fix this issue. I just have to figure out some of the installer options for x64 flags

Ok - rc 1, rev 2400 is up there
When installing pick 32 or 64bit, if you choose the wrong one, it will crash when it attempts to scan the media for data

General Info on rev 2400
I switched to rc1 as it's getting closer to being ready for general consumption, there are still areas i'll improve on, and another possible source of posters that I'm waiting on authorization to use. Renaming still hasn't been touched, but it's on the list!

Documentation is lacking.. and something I'll have to sort out, anyone can add and should feel free to add to the wiki on sourceforge, there's 1 doc right now on how to install wine for ubuntu for use with MIP.

I've changed the way impawards.com posters are called, it now looks first by imdbid, then falls back to the name as not all have the id file, this seems to work much better for movies with numbers in them and odd spellings.

Thank you fekker for the update to 2400. Checking it momentarily

Sorry I wasn't able to be more specific in my original post as I have been busy with school starting back. Just want to say thank you again. I am new to the XBMC scene and this tool has been the biggest help.

And because I'm such a n00b can anyone tell me why when i import my movies XBMC will see the fanart and posters in files mode but when i attempt to add it to the library it always goes to the internet and grabs its own images along with the movie plot and info?

I have changed every setting i can find for the IMDB scrapers, deleted the existing thumbnails and even tried to adding them to the library when the internet connection is disabled. I am now setting everything by hand. What am i doing wrong?

I don't want to hijack the thread so please PM me if you have a solution.

Your program looks very good. But when I try it it just goes crazy. When I click on moviefolders where the filenames of folder and avi is not the same, a movie.nfo, <foldername>.nfo is created automatically. When I look in settings "Save movie.nfo" is not checked. It doesn't find my nfoConfused and tbnConfused.

This happens even when my movies have these files for example:
Pulp.Fiction\pulpfiction.tbn
Pulp.Fiction\pulpfiction.nfo
Pulp.Fiction\folder.jpg

Then I get these files which I do not want:
Pulp.Fiction\Pulp.Fiction.nfo
Pulp.Fiction\movie.nfo

Is it required to have the foldername the same as videofilename. If so that seems strange as XBMC do not require this.
