When your are i library mode xbmc ticks the movies or episodes you have watched, why doesnt this work in file-mode?

Because the library is essentially a database that contains this and much more information.
If you are asking why the status is not shown in filemode if you have things scanned into the library (does it not?) I do not know, it's probably a design decision.
File mode is supposed to be a file browsing mode.
If you want bells and whistles, use the library.
