Folks,

I have this strange question.

I updated ATV using the boot software with which I got Launcher menu and software menu.

When I look at Software menu-> 3rd party plugin for xbmc. It shows me that my xbmc needs updating. The current version of my xbmc is 2.2 and needs to be upgraded to 0.9. This does not make much sense but wondering if I should upgrade to 0.9? What is the current version going on for XBMC on ATV?

Launcher comes in two flavors Launcher 2.3 and Launcher 0.9. The reason is legacy and will be resolved in Launcher 3.0.

A patchstick should install Launcher 0.8 which can be updated to Launcher 2.3. Then you can downgrade to Launcher 0.9 to get a Launcher that is similar to Launcher 0.8 in operation.

So in simple terms it should be safe to run upgrade command?

One more thing. Under Launcher also there is upgrade command for xbmc and boxee. what is difference between this two upgrades?

Launcher launches xbmc or boxee

upgrade xbmc installs/updates xbmc

upgrade boxee installs/updates boxee

xbmc and boxee are two media center apps.
