I am currently watching both sd and hd content using the XBMC live image, and my remote responsiveness (Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150) leaves something to be desired. On the contrary, my Sony DVP-NS75H DVD player is excellent in this regard. Everything is fluid, whether it's FF, RW, slow motion playback, etc. Also, my TiVo HD does a great job at this as well.
I realize the XBMC default movie player does not provide for a fluid response similar to my DVD player, but is there something I can do to improve the user experience? The remote does everything I need it to do, but is there a better remote I should consider buying? Or is the responsiveness limited to the media encoding/format of the video file, ie avi vs mkv, sd vs 720p, or the codecs the Linux o/s uses?
