Hi,
I've got xbmc working fine on my ATV, but want to know if there is a way to getting Dolby Digitla 5.1 working via tos-link (optical)?
It seems to be locked to DTS.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I mis-guided you a little. It runs xbmc in ProLogic mode ok, but not D-Digital or DTS modes.
When I plug my xbox back in and switch xbmc on, I get DTS & D-digital (depending on what I'm viewing).
Is ATV limited to Dolby Prologic only?
Thanks

Neither the thread(Windows Only) nor the commit(Branch Project) is relevant to the issue being discussed here.

ffmpeg 0.5 released on Marth, the 10th... has changed from liba52 to libac3... this may solve ac3 passthrough problem on XBMC.
I don't have a tiger with me to compile it. has anyone compile XBMC with the new ffmpeg ?

Hi,
Yeah it's interesting, because when I run XBMC (maybe for the last years) on my xbox, I get the DTS/DD/5.1/AC3 passthrough to work fine.
You also have the option under the Audio settings menu to 'output to all speakers' when playing audio files.
So on ATV, this is not the case and you only get the passthrough and output to the 5.1 on selected video files.
So getting back to my origional question, I'm assuming this is a xbmc on atv bug, rather then ATV hardware issue?
Thanks
