Scanning NAS Library with nfo IMDB link file?

Hi All

I was told that if I put the following files into my nas, then the import into XBMC for windows would run smoothly....

Film_name.iso
Film_name.nfo -> TXT file containing the IMDB web link.
Film_name.jpg
Film_name.tbn
Folder.jpg

But it dosent seem to work? when scanning it dosent look into the nfo files?
And I have to scan each subfolder manually....takes forever...end dosent always work do the nfo file would be great...

Also what is the priority for XBMC poster art...? is it

1) Film_name.tbn
2) folder.jpg
3) Film_name.jpg

I am trying to make a match that would work bout in XBMC and other Multimedia network players.... so if *.tbn is 1 Priority that would solve that Big Grin

Your help is much appreciated
Thanks

One extra problem if I manually scan a folder ..then it replaces the folder.jpg with some "ugly" one from the net...how can I prioritize the local Folder.jpg or Moviename.jpg or Moviename.tbn?

if you have one movie per folder name the imdb file movie.nfo

the fancy naming of this file is only needed if you have multiple movies in one folder

Thanks I found a fix.....

I now use Media Companion for the nfo file....So that overrules the IMDB lookup.

I then have the Movie_name.tbn as a poster art defined in the nfo file.

1) Folder.jog for the file view

2) Movie_name.tbn for the Library view

Now the BIGGEST PROBLEM IS....that I cant get XBMC to Scan the 100 folders automatically....I have to select each folder and select "Movie Information"

Please help...anyway to force it to update the information?

Thanks

Do "Set content" to folder were all movies are.(context menu)
And XBMC scans all info into your library.

Watch out!! This will only add new content it wil not refresh existing info!!

So, first clean your library and thumbs!!!
xbmc/userdata/Database/MyVideos34.db
xbmc/userdata/Thumbnails/Video

Just FYI. When you install a newer SVN version it presents 2 options of where to store these files. It is also slightly differernt between say Vista and XP I believe.

Covet your dbase and thumbnail cache. Done right you can maintain it for a very long time.
