I am finally getting excited that there is something viable to replace my xbox1's that will be smaller quieter and support HD.
Having used XBMC on xbox for so long now, there are a couple of questions that immediately spring to mind about the ION platform.
Can they be powered on and off by remote?
Do they support PXE booting?
Support WOL?
Support suspend to disk with wake up by remote?
Anyone measured the power used in idle and under load?
Is there anything useful that the WLAN socket could be used for, if you don't need WLAN?
Having a quick think about this, to use one of these systems as a replacement for XBOX it is all going to come down to the functionality of using the remote for me. I did get a couple of Linksys DMA-1000's to have a look at using them and I just had one look at the remote and gave up on that idea.
Cheers, Des.
