Kali Wrote:moblin2 is in a beta stage

many of the improvement for 5'' boot on SDD are described here http://lwn.net/Articles/299483

also sreadahead (0.0.4 on moblin2) is tuned only for SSD, using it on rotary hdd give some penalty

Kali, thanks for the extra info and the links.

I just spent tonight trying to compile XBMC from the http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=HOW-TO_compi..._Moblin_v2 with no success. Sad

hi all,

I have an asrock ion 330 for 2 weeks. First I installed Ubuntu 9.04 with XBMC and everything ran fine. While reading this thread I knew, I need moblin with XBMC Smile

First I installed moblin (latest Version 20090818) from usb pen which went smooth. When I start Moblin, it couldn't find the display: "gtk cannot open display: :0" But as I read, this failure is gone with my own XServer. Pressing CTRL + C and the terminal is displayed. Next I tried to install the sshd but there is no network connection. The Asrock Ion 330 has no wlan and eth0 is not found, like motd2k already mentioned. But for downloading the sshd and nvidia driver and so on, an internet connection is necessary. How can I get eth0 recognized? On my Ion is no other operating system installed, so I can't find out which network card is in there. Does someone else with an Asrock 330 know, which card is on board? Is anywhere out there a driver I can download?

I have no experience with moblin yet, in the past I always used ubuntu.

Thx for your help in advance!

Moblin v2 is out: http://www.moblin.org

Also a new version of Ubuntu Moblin Remix is out (Moblin based on the internals Ubuntu 9.04)

http://linux.dell.com/files/ubuntu/mobli...ition-2.0/

As soon as this version is more stable I will try to see how it's performance is.

I have the following error when trying to run configure, XBMC from svn (https://xbmc.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xbmc/trunk/)

checking size of int... 0
checking size of size_t... configure: error: in `/home/xbmc/XBMC':
configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (size_t)
See `config.log' for more details.

I have installed moblin 2.0 final on my POV 330 ION. Recompiled X with xinerama support. Installed the NVIDIA driver (185.18.36).

Anyone has a solution for this problem? On vmware ./configure gives no errors (moblin 2.0 final without nvidia drivers)

Cheers,
Raymond

ok, i have been able to compile xbmc. First removed the NVIDIA driver. Then
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-debug --enable-vdpau. And last installed the NVIDIA driver again.

But i have another (minior) issue. I have have sound over HDMI (tv) in my movie content, but not in the xbmc Gui.

Also, I cant play avchd iso's. Does XBMC support avchd?

for moblin on ION hardware have a look at http://www.madeo.co.uk

On moblin 2.1 there is a bug that means that you cannot use clutter. However this is fixed in git. Cool
