Let me know if there's anything wrong with it so we can update/modify it, thanks.

What kind of boot times are you getting with this?

in a vm it boots to the Moblin desktop in about 25 seconds.. on decent hardware and booting straight to xbmc should be considerably faster.

Cool, this has some potential then. If my girlfriend wasn't such a avid user of the HTPC I would give it a go.

Yeah it's down atm, I'll update it in the first post. Server crashed and I'm on vacation.. No

Nice work motd2k, I'll definately check it out when I get back home. Really nice to see others experimenting with moblin + xbmc as well, as I don't have much time to work on it at the time being.

Did anyone get latest version of Moblin (moblin-netbook-beta-refresh-
20090721-001.img) to run on real Hardware?
I am using Zotac 9300-ITX and had no luck with it. I just get blank screen after 2 minutes when booting live image.

Previous versions are booting...

kali, you've measured the boot sequence yet? I would like to know if it's as "slow" as it's for me (expected it to be much faster than a normal ubuntu boot).

near 45s on a very slow 2.5'' 40GB 5400 RPM 2MB (Segate LD25.2)
but many or all the optimization made by intel to boot on in 5s on SSD (10s on legacy hd) isn't there, the sreadahed need a kernel patch to trace open file, initrd is still in use ...
