XBMC Live on a thumb drive (via unetbootin) get blank screen?
#1
I just put the latest xbmc live on a thumb drive (via unetbootin) and it looks like it boots fine, but the installer will not go past the xbmc logo. All I get is a blank screen. Any ideas?

I ended up going with full bore Ubuntu 9.04 and then installing XBMC. Oh well.

I had the same issue with unetbootin thus I tried a different method that worked like a charm, at least for me:

1. fdisk your flash drive and set the booteable flag
2. mkfs.vfat -F 32 /dev/sdxx (where xx is your flash drive/partition)
3. syslinux -sf /dev/sdxx (where xx is your flash drive/partition)
4. copy the full content of XBMC Release Atlantis 8.10 (previous release)
5. Boot in order to verify that it works.
6. Reboot and copy/paste the full content of XBMC Babylon 9.04 (latest release)
7. Repeat step 4 and enjoy it.

Steps 6 & 7 are because I couldn't make Babylon work therefor I tried the previous release and the upgraded by copying/pasting Babylon.
Let me know your results.
LU.
