Is that PPA build an automated thing? Are we likely to have to wait a few days before there's another attempt at getting an updated PPA for the latest SVN up and online for the masses? or is this the thing that someone might be addressing/reattempting sooner than that?

I have just reinstalled my system including an update to a newer SVN version of XBMCLive.

I am now having a problem where if i use the MCE remote arrow buttons to skip during the payback of some video files or fast forward at faster speeds them XBMC resets itself.

Is this a bug in a recent revision of XBMC or something on my end?
Anything else I can do to help debug?

Here is my log http://pastebin.com/m2ffd7fd6 .

No file was played in that log. Please disable the library scan on start (to minimize mess in the log output), restart XBMC, replicate the error, stop XBMC, then upload a new log.

EDIT: Is this only during FF/RW or seek too? Your thread title contradicts the description.

it seems to delete the logfile as it resets so never evidence of the crash, hence why there was nothing in the last log i posted.

Using xbmc.old.log I can start to see the problem, something to do with codecs or memory? Is this a problem at my end? I only have 512MB RAM but its worked fine for the last few months now.

As I said, it occurs when skipping using the arrow buttons on the remote or FF at higher speeds.

The file is being streamed over a wired network using samba.

Looks like there is a new PPA build in the process of being built: SVN22437

Same problem for me here in the latest SVN revisions. I'll see if the problem is still there once 22437 is built and available in PPA, and post a log then.

well we have to report the bugs or they don't get fixed!

Seems the build failed for Intrepid, Hardy, and Jaunt with Karmic still pending..... Pretty sure it's gonna crap out as well =(

After installing this 22437, remote control stopped working))) One bug goes away, a new one comes))

I'm pretty sure the new ffmpeg dlls in r22376 should fix this. Report back if not.

It started working for me on r22319. (It might have been fixed soon but that was the current svn when I tried)
