The original script is intend to be used with jaunty minimal.
The fixed version doesn't change anyting substantial; only the key servers. So, I believe the right is jaunty minimal.

Fireman, quick question I'm not sure really how to use that alsa.
I tried to run it and it gives me some command line.
Usage: unload:reload:force-unload and on, but I don't see that gui looking interface that I saw when I originally set it up.

In alsamixer I see:
Master -- Maxed
PCM -- Maxed
Front -- Maxed
Line -- Maxed
Mic -- Maxed
IEC958 -- Light Green says :MM:
IEC958 D -- Green says :00:
IEC958 1 -- Light Green says :MM:
IEC958 2 -- Light Green says :MM:
I can't seem to adjust. Ah if you hit F1 it appears to give you a menu with instructions. Like "m" unmutes things I unmuted everything and well I have HDMI audio.

If anybody uses the script I'm temp hosting keep in mind I did not use the SVN update. When I tried it yesterday it seem to break my install. I don't know if it was just something in the air or if the script had an issue. I just personally wanted to get it up on Linux for the first time since I've never tried it before.

Hi guys,i am a linux n00bian bigtime.
I bought a aspire revo 330 atom, i have installed windows xp and then i set up the linux minimal install and dual boot option.
I then used flxfxp's(thanks bro) script and i selected option 1, i used the 1.90 drivers and everything worked (took a long time), i then selected option 2 to install the latest release which went very fast.
Now when i reboot and log in , xbmc does not load and all i have is the... xbmc@unbuntu:~$ (at first there is an xbmc icon loading up and i then log in )
I have spent the last 3 hours reading guides etc/trying out things ,and my head is hurting ,
ctrl alt f1 does nothing
ctrl alt f2 just brings up the unbuntu login:
I am completly lost as what to do next?
Someone please help me out?
Regards
Papa

Did it work before you updated it with the Option2? When I used his script the first time it would take a while then it would never load. Somebody posted a Bandaid fix and then I threw it on my server and said it works for me when you use Option 1 and the 185 drivers.
When I used option 2 it seem to break things, but at the sametime I used the 190 drivers. So its kind of a crapshoot right now.
I can say without a doubt right now I have Option 1 and 185 drivers working. I just need to update my build, but I think I'm going to wait for the OP to either update his script or do it the old fashion way.

I just followed an earlier post which said to install option 1 then 2.
The ion in the revo is compatable with 1.90 drivers i think.
Should xbmc just load automatically after option 1 and 2 are complete?
thanks for the quick reply dude

Can i use option 2 from time to time to get the latest release ?
Will the current installed version automatically upgraded to the newest svn build ?
What can i do when the update fails or the svn has too many bugs ?
A revert to last installed svn would be a good idea, or not ?
Or it is ok to copy this 2 folders:
/usr/share/xbmc
/home/xbmc/.xbmc/
(That's all ? or anything missed?)
to a save location before starting with option 2 ?
When the update fails this 2 folders (with all subfolders) can be copied to the old location and verything reverts to the state before update takes place ?
But the option to revert to last installed version would be the greatest !!!
Thx in advance

Heck I'm trying to find a work around to update to the newer builds. I tried this
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
and well got nothing found. Being new to linux I'm sorta feeling dumb at the moment hahaha
