going to throw this out there.

i have a samsung 1080p 52inch. which i spent weeks trying to figure out why there was over scanning and such........

drove me crazy.. playing with the xorg.conf file and trying to set meta modes and all that jazz....

u know what it was? my tv had a setting for MODE on that HDMI port:

4:3 mode 16:9 mode and a "JUST SCAN" mode. the JUST scan mode was the trick .. to fixing the "OVER Scan" Problem.
