No HDMI signal at all
#1
Hello,

I am setting up a new HTPC and everything was going very smoothly until switching from VGA to HDMI. My TV (a Samsung LCD LE32R74BD) when switched to HDMI is just saying "No Signal".

I am using the Asus AT3N7A-I (Atom & ION board) with 2gb RAM (with 512mb assigned to the GPU in the BIOS). I couldn't see anything in the BIOS for enabling/disabling HDMI.

I installed a minimal Jaunty setup (basic server + ssh).

I then used the XBMscript to install and set up XBMC. I didn't run the script, however, I copied the commands manually as I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing to my system. But essentially, I performed step 1, installing the stable 185 Nvidia drivers and none of the extra skins.

When switching one of the TTYs I still don't get an HDMI signal.

It is hard to single out of the cause of the problem because:
- I've never used HDMI on this TV before.
- All the hardware is new, and the HDMI cable is new.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi!

I've 100% the same problem like you with my AT3N7A-I board. Only in WinXP I get a signal after booting with VGA connected and installed gfx-driver. After switching on my beamer or LCD-TV, I get a HDMI-signal and can choose "close" or "expand" in the nvida gfx console.

But I never got any signal in the bios, under Linux or any other non-Windows-OS.

If you can fix our problem, please contact me or post a reply in this thread.
