Just want to chime in and say that I'm having the same problems as well on a Zotac IONITX-AU and Acer Revo R1600.
Ubuntu 9.10
NVIDIA 185
XBMC r29504
All my VC-1 rips, (Dark Knight, The Departed, etc.) are having this issue of stuttering when autorefresh is enabled.
I'd post a log but I'm at work.
Thanks,
Bahndit

I get the same problem with VC1 also, with Auto Refresh Rate enabled it jumps all over the place but with Auto Refresh Rate disabled it's only a slight judder.
XviD/X264 encodes play fine.
Using r28256, NV driver 195.36.15

I'm seeing "jumpy" playback as well.
Completely unwatchable.
I'm using the latest "safe" build before nightlies went offline.
Also, do any of you guys have a full Blu-ray rip (BDMV) of the three Lord of the Rings movies?
I see it in all three, is it the same for you?
PS. They are VC-1 .m2ts

I have approx. 15 BD-Rips in VC-1. Another 8 are in h264.
Every VC-1 is unwatchable. Every h264 is playing smooth...
XBMC 9.11 (SVN 28275) on minimal Ubuntu 9.04
on ZOTAC ION-A (Atom330 / 4GB / 250GB HDD / Atric Switch / Silverstone LC19 Case)

elupus, this sounds like the same crap i had with that rbk.no plugin which we already fixed in svn unless i'm mistaken? was caused by davilla's generate timestamp attempts for chd.

Hmm - just gave it a try and yes: i have the same issues on the somewhat ancient 28276 and yes, they're gone if i disable the autorefreshrate thingy.

It's switching to 24 hz for you all and then this issue shows up?
What happens if you swich xbmc to 24hz before starting playback, then play?
