settings not saved, permissions are ok...

Well, I think they are...

Ive been using latest build xbmc on a 9.04 box as an admin user. I then created a "dumb" user with low permissions and ran xbmc under that user as auto-login, auto-run.

XBMC will not save any settings under this user but *will* create the .xbmc directory and contents if i delete it! dumb user has full access to their home directory.

are there other permissions im missing somewhere?

cheers

A debug log will likely tell exactly what's going wrong. See the "How to post about a problem" stickies in the support forum for your given platform. There is also information about the Debug log in the Online Manual: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMC_Online_Manual
