[Web Interface Addon] [Eden] XWMM - XBMC Web Media Manager
no, this is not the way to use addon, should be name webinterface.XWMM
to install it, in addon --> install from zip, it will be installed in addon directory, then go and activate the desired webinterface in networ settings.
Thank you for info !

How to do that in dharma beta 2 Huh
go in network settings... and open your eyes Big Grin
Hello
I open my eyes Laugh

Quote:the desired webinterface
With my eyes wide open I can't see no XWMM webinterface.

I saw only a few services :

maybe you wanted to say to enable webinterface for controlling xbmc Huh Just I did.

When I asked about how to select the desired "webinterface.XWMM" I thought it was like the add-ons.

I thought the Network-Settings have a list of several "WebInterface" and you can choose one of them. And one of them was XWMM.
That's what I look and I could not find.

XWMM not work as add-on for me.

How did you manage to make it work like an add-on to Lucid + Dharma beta 2?

There is no notifier for successfully installation after you install from zip.
Any way there is a "webinterface.XWMM" folder in "/home/pricinosus/.xbmc/addons" after install.
What is the next step to make it work?

For me works only with folder XWMM in "/usr/share/xbmc/web/"

Look here:

Respect
strange, are you running beta2 ?
It looks like beta 1 instead of beta 2.
slash Wrote:Instructions:
Method 1: (XWMM will be the only web interface)
- Go to System > Add-ons > Install from zip file
- Select the downloaded Download webinterface.XWMM-x-x-x.zip file
- Go to System > Settings > Network > Services:
- Allow control XBMC via HTTP
- Web interface : XWMM
- open your browser to http://<your_XBMC_IP>:<port>

Method 2 : (if you use multiple web tools) (due to XBMC limitation will be fixed in Eden)
- Go to System > Add-ons > Install from zip file
- Select the downloaded Download webinterface.XWMM-x-x-x.zip file
- Copy webinterface.XWMM in the user directory to webinterface.default/XWMM in the XBMC directory
- Go to System > Settings > Network > Services:
- Allow control XBMC via HTTP
- Web interface : Default
- open your browser to http://<your_XBMC_IP>:<port>/XWMM.index.html

Trying both of the directions above (which worked perfect 'till the end Smile), I only see the default interface. Sad

My info:
  • Linux 2.6.32-24-generic (Ubuntu-Lucid)
  • XBMC 10.0-beta2 r33778 (Compiled: Sept 14 2010) (PPA build)
With method 2 (using default web interface), could you try opening the browser at :

http://<your_XBMC_IP>:<port>/XWMM/index.html (I made a typo in the how-to)

If it still doesn't work, please send us the result of :
ls -al /usr/share/xbmc/addons/webinterface.default

/
http://<your_XBMC_IP>:<port>/XWMM/index.html
prompts me to type in user name and password.
then it tells me "File not Found"

I am using google Chrome as my browser

Code:
xbmc@XBMCLive:~$ ls -al /usr/share/xbmc/addons/webinterface.default
total 32
drwxr-xr-x  5 root root 4096 2010-09-14 14:20 .
drwxr-xr-x 37 root root 4096 2010-09-14 14:20 ..

drwxr-xr-x  2 root root 4096 2010-09-14 14:20 js
xbmc@XBMCLive:~$

when going into the addons in xbmc I didn't see XWMM in there to be downloaded
pre Dharma Beta2 it was working just fine for me

You didn't follow method 2 correctly.
sudo cp -R ~/.xbmc/addons/webinterface.XWMM /usr/share/xbmc/addons/webinterface.default/XWMM
I don't have ~/.xbmc/addons/webinterface.XWMM

-=Jason=-
After installing the webinterface.XWMM-x-x-x.zip-file, the directory ~/.xbmc/addons/webinterface.XWMM should exist. Are you sure you have installed XWMM via the Add-on-Menu?
I was tinkering with this last night (windows 7).

In my userdata/addons I only had folder called XWMM (not webinterface.XWMM)

But when I copies XWMM folder from the userdata folder and dropped it in to addons/webinterface.default/ it worked fine.
put it in webinterface.XWMM
then select it in options.
