so ive installed xbmc on xubuntu, and then later upgraded to 9.11 alpha, but the one thing im unable to figure out is, how do i install plugins?
Ive tried installing the svn repo, but cant get it working.

I want to set it up, so that it grabs the movie cover and synopsis from imdb like im seeing in the screen shots.

Set content on the source that contains your movies.

You don't require plugins for this.

thanks thats what i was looking for.

one other thing... how do I install skins?
i cant seem to find the directory to put them in.

found the skin directory ~/usr/share/xbmc/skin

but it wont let me put the skins in there because the folder is 'owned by' root.

edit: went into terminal and typed "sudo thunar" (which is the file manager in xubuntu) then found the folder and gave myself read & write.

so I thought the look I was looking for would be in the skin, but apparently im doing something wrong.

i want xbmc to show the dvd cover of the videos.
i downloaded rapier because i like the look of the dvd covers and info, but i cant figure out how to get that look.
