Can XBMC be used to control another XBMC?
#1
I see some new settings in the network section for Version 9.11,
something like "Allow remote programs in this system to control XBMC" and "Allow programs from other systems to control XBMC"
are they for that purpose?
and how to make it work?

It says, "Allow remote control programs on this system to control XBMC" and "Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC"

So it's not XBMC -> XBMC, it's a general program that can control XBMC, either on the same system, for example computer. or another system, for example phone.

On the same system is generally remote software that have a host on the same computer, for example lirc or bluetooth based remote control programs.

Is it right, that it is not possible to control a xbmc with another xbmc?

Because my configuration at home would look like the following:
- TV and xbmc
- Touchscreen PC, that should control the Xbmc system at the tv.

I found the only solution to use the web interface. but this has atm not all features and is not so comfortable to use. What I am looking for is a nice opengl application for my touchscreen pc to control the xbmc server/pc. Applications for android and iphone exists. I need the same for a linux Smile

Screen Sharing would be an easy solution, but not applicable with an opengl gui Sad

It wonders me, why no application implements the uPnP Remote Control features...

It would be very helpful if I got any hints from you specialist!

Thx
