5. There are tons of cool lens icons out there. Here's a start.
I experimented with a vintage texture and it worked out pretty well...
Obviously works best with fanart disabled, but for some other textures I tried, fanart actually looked pretty cool.
If anyone else wants to try, the general process is...
1. Get a large texture image. I used this wallpaper.
2. Open texture image in your .png capable image editor of choice (I used Gimp) and crop/resize to desired resolution (I cropped rather than resized to keep the floral pattern large.)
3. Reduce the opacity of the primary layer down to 30% or so.
4. Save in your Alaska skin folder as ../Alaska/media/backdrops/filter.png (backing up the original first.)
Different opacity levels of the texture layer will have an effect on the colors defined in your .xml and any fanart displayed so just vary the levels until you get something you like.
