Problems downmixing DD+
#1
Hello,

i have problems with stereo downmixing.

DTS/DD etc. works fine but DD+ always puts the voice (center speaker) to my left stereo channel.

It is device independent (Analog/Digital/HDMI/Intel onboard)
and stereo downmixing works fine with VLC using the same sample movie.

Is there anything i can do about the wrong channel mapping?

Martin

System:

card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC1200 Digital [ALC1200 Digital]

I just checked DTS-HD and that downmixes correctly.

I don't know what else i could try to get correct downmixing for DD+/E-AC3 (unitel my G210 works).

Is there no solution to this? Or is my way asking for help wrong?

I have a lot of DD+ Audio MKVs because thats the standard HD-DVD Soundtrack in germany.

But since my xbox 360 cannot handle 24p i have to convert all HD-DVDs to mkv so that i can watch them without stuttering.

I would really appreciate help with this - else i have to convert all eac3 to ac3 or DTS which would result in quality loss.

Hi,

I am having the same problem. EAC3 (I'm playing from MKV) is not downmixed to stereo correctly. The downmix setting doesn't actually seem to have any effect on it.

Is a fix for this issue expected in the next version?
