samba shares on dual boot pc problem
#1
alright, first off, I've got a dual boot PC with ubuntu 9.10 and windows XP.
I've got samba set up in ubuntu and I'd like to be able to access my windows drives from XBMC (xbox).

I'm able to access any shares I want in the ubuntu filesystem but I'm unable to set up a working share to my mounted windows drives.

if I set up a share that points directly to the mounted windows drives, XBMC simply tells me that the share is unavailable.

however, if I browse to the mount, XBMC asks me for a username and password.
I've tried using my ubuntu username and password (the main user account), but that doesn't work.

I'm sure this is probably something stupid and easy, but I can't figure out what to do.

I'm pretty new to samba so help is much appreciated.
