Remote Control Problem
#1
I'm in the early stages of configuring my XBMC setup and I've been struggling the last few nights with getting the remote set up properly. I'm running Camelot v9.11 (Transparency Skin)...on Windows 7 Ultimate (x64).

My remote situation is somewhat unique in that I'm using an Antec Fusion Remote case that has the IR sensor built-in. My remote is a URC MX-810 (http://www.universalremote.com/product_d...?model=128).

I'm trying to use EventGhost and essentially set up a device on the remote to be an MCE remote (when you create a device, the software let's you pull from a database of remotes to grab the buttons from, much like the Harmony's do).

So I do this, and follow the instructions from this thread - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=46595. Once I do all that, the basic buttons work (up, down, left, right, exit) in XBMC and in Windows, but none of the other buttons work (no play, pause, stop, ff, r, etc). I also notice that in EventGhost it doesn't log any of the button presses on the remote like it seems like it should according to that thread, so I'm unable to add those actions to their corresponding items.

The Antec case also comes with a remote, and I initially tried using the iMon software and learning all of the buttons from that remote (it says Veris RM200 on it) but got basically the same result.

I'm guessing the problem is that EventGhost isn't recognizing the remote as an MCE remote which is why it's not logging any of the button presses?

Any ideas? This has been driving me crazy for 3 nights now.

Start with the remote that came with the Antec case and uninstall any helper software like iMon or EventGhost. Use in the info in the above article to figure out what type of remote you have. Once you've got it working you can use your universal remote to simulate your Antec remote.

Thanks JR, I will do that. I should mention though that I did actually have the remote that came with the Antec working...but then when I "learned" the codes to my MX-810, all the buttons didn't work (and I tried learning multiple times and the remote software always said the transfer was successful). That's when I tried simulating an MCE remote.

So when I run that Showkey program, with my MX-810 simulated as an MCE remote, many of the keys register a signal including up, down, left, right, exit, enter, all the number keys...but most of the remaining keys don't register anything. Most importantly play, pause, ff, rw, etc. So I'm not sure if it's the sensor on my case or what, but something isn't allowing it to pick up those buttons on the remote.
