HDMI pass-through audio works for video with DTS, but not with MP3 audio
#1
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with HDMI, and audio works fine when I play any x264 files with Dolby or DTS audio.

However, whenever I play XviD files with stereo MP3 audio, I get nothing.

This is the xbmc.log file when I play an xvid file:

Notice the "no pass-through" comment in that log? I think that's the source of my error.

My alsamixer setup looks fine. Here is a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/QRPHx.png

Also, here is a screenshot of my XBMC Audio System Settings: http://i.imgur.com/P7sv4.png

Any help or guidance that anyone can provide would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Are u using a speaker system or just to your TV?

Atleast if your connecting to TV, untick ac3 capable reciever and untick dts capable reciever. set audio output device on hdmi, and downmix mutlichannel to stereo.

If u are using a speaker system i dont know. My settings look exactly like that, expect, audio output device is on hdmi, instead of default.

Thanks for your response.

My TV passes the HDMI audio right through to to my surround sound receiver, which decodes DTS or Dolby, etc.
