uninstall the Asrock's IR lirc driver, then run the script and configure your remote again:
Selecct "none" to all options (if any is asked) then run the script again and select the ASRock's remote. This will compile a new module using the updated kernel source.
I believe this will solve your problem.
cheers.
EDIT: in fact, this didn't work anymore after update to kernel 2.6.31-21 (i'm running 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24 07:28:56 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux - the last stable and installed by apt-get update+upgrade)
I don't have much time now... I will try solve this later
Cheers.
Code:
sudo apt-get remove lirc-nct677x
