When I try to stream an MP3 from my FTP (not in local network), XBMC (T3ch rev28472) on my XBOX somehow manages to set up 45 transfers, seemingly sequentially (so not multiple at once), in order to get the file. It takes extremely long before it starts to play (MP3 can be downloaded at 600KB/s, but it takes ~15 seconds before it starts) and afterwards the UI stays frozen ("Working...") for another 30 seconds.
It's extreme when you see the log (see here). How's this possible? I changed the cache size for audio over internet, but whatever I do, it's the same.
