Hey Tiben,
Changeset 31307 - Added dxva1 and dxva2 for h264 and vc1 codec in the internal video decoder.
How does that work? - is it just a rule in the mediaconfig that either uses an external codec (mpc etc), or use the internal codec?

OK, I just tested out an mkv with PGS subtitles, here are my results:
- Using the XBMC default player the subtitles play without issue
- Using the latest DSPlayer the subtitles do not appear, the audio is out of sync with the video, and XBMC crashes after 20 seconds
For DSPlayer I overwrote the MPC filters with the latest MPC filters from Xvidvideo, since the latest filters support PGS subtitles in mkvs. I am using W7 x64, however I only grabbed the x32 MPC filters since I assume XBMC/DSPlayer is a 32bit application. I did not make any changes to the mediasconfig.xml or filtersconfig.xml

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the great work on the DSPLAYER. It is working great with HD MP4 and HD MKV files in my collection.
I'm fairly new to the nightly builds and have a quick question. I tried searching this thread but couldn't find something definitive to help me out. I am using a June build around 31000. I am using a Radeon 3850 with the June 12 CCC drivers in Win XP SP3.
I have MKV's made from DVDs I own, purely transcoded using MakeMKV, resulting in MKV extension, MPEG-2 Video. I get the error of "codec not supported, please see Wiki - DSPlayer for codecs supported". I have put DSPlayer as default using advancedsettings.xml. I understand that I can put rules by extension like MKV. But I also have HD MKVs which use H.264 which play properly with DXVA. I have not changed the mediasconfig.xml or filtersconfig.xml . If a debug log is needed, I can post it later.
a) How do I set a rule to play SD MKVs (with MPEG-2 video) using DVDPlayer and HD MKVs (with H.264 video) using DSPLAYER? I will remove the advancedsettings.xml rule for using DSPlayer as default. Should I be doing anything with mediasconfig.xml or playercorefactory.xml ? If yes, I don't know how to set a rule since both file types use MKV but a different video codec.
b) I read in this thread that someone added a filter for accelerated MPEG-2? Should I do that instead so I can use DSPLAYER for all files?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
-John
