A firmware update for the BD Combo drive(Sony Optiarc BC-5500S Combo) that enables max. read speed from 2x to 4x is available on Sony's support website.
Of course this firmware update won't install on OEMs, so I emailed Asrock support and requested an update. They haven't had the courtesy to reply to my support request and 2 email follow ups. They obviously have no intention of updating the drive and can't be bothered emailing me.
First and last Asrock product I'll be buying.
