Video cutting out

Question
This started happening when i moved house, before that everything was fine. When streaming a video file from navi-x or iplayer or anywhere else on the internet the stream will play fine for about 30 seconds and then freeze for a split second, and then drop out back to XBMC. It's like its not buffering properly, and at the point it should be pausing to buffer its just cutting out completely. I've had a good search on the net and this forum and can't find anyone else with the same problem. I'm using T3CH build SVN:29407. Here is the log file..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

James

Edit: It also happens in XBMC for Windows, so I've come to the conclusion it's a router problem.

Maybe you are right, you could try increasing the size of the video buffer, see if that helps...

See the wiki page on AdvancedSettings.xml (Q:\UserData), start from this template and pick the entries you need.

Set all the buffer settings high, no joy. As this is happening on the Xbox and PC versions, i changed my router. Still happening. So i changed all the cables, and the microfilter and it's STILL happening. It can't be any of my hardware, so it must be the internet connection. Is this possible? What ports does XBMC need to have open to work? Can my ISP have blocked a port that's needed? This seems unlikely because the videos start playing, but seem to recieve a 'recieved last data packet of queue' error.

Argh someone help!!!

Edit: The exact same streams work perfectly in firefox and internet explorer.

You can't use IPlayer with the last t3ch build - it will cut out due to the akamai streams using swf validation.

See towards the end of the big thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=51322

Downloaded that iplayer update in the thread you sent me, made no difference - still cutting out. This also happens on navi-x, and it's happening on the pc too so i dont think it can be what you suggested, as my pc version isnt a t3ch build.

Unfortunately you need more than an update to IPlayer. the RTMP stuff is in the xbmc itself. You need a xbmc with the libRTMP patches. I provide one for xbox, but the patches are currently not in trunk. You will not be able to play any RTMP streams with swf verification until you have a build with this feature.

The error log you provided points directly to this. You are streaming from akamai. neither the windows, linux, or xbox standard builds yet do this (the author of rtmpdump has posted patches that should get in at some point soon). If you have an xbox, you can install my xbmc version and my updated IPlayer plugin, and you can then stream rtmp with swf verification, as well as IPlayer limelight streams which use rtmpt

Ahh excellent, seemed strange to me that it worked perfectly at the beginning of january and then just stopped. I thought it was because i had moved house! Just a strange set of circumstances i guess. Could you provide me with your build? That would be most appreciated. And thanks so much for taking the time to look at my problem - it's been driving me crazy!!
