Check in the System Info and see if xbmc recognizes that you have an ION GPU (Mine didn't when I was having these issues)
If it doesn't recognize the ION, try to update your NVIDIA Drivers

It did the trick for me.
First of all, I must say the main problem was the TV.
After reading the manual and connecting the shuttle to the right HDMI
port, the picture is working great.
However a new problem has emerged.
After playing a movie for 5 - 10 minutes little white pixels starts
flickering around the screen.
I need to reboot the shuttle for them to disappear. But they return
instantly when resuming the movie after a reboot.
If I shutdown the shuttle for half an hour and then start it again. It
can play a movie for 5 - 10 minutes again before they reaper.
I friend of mine advised me to install AtiTool and scan for artifacts.
So I installed Windows 7 64bit and latest driver for all the hardware
and started a scan.
After 20 minutes the test started to look like this:

Which is very similar to what I was experiencing in XBMC/Ubuntu.
The shuttle I standing in an open room with approximately 50 cm free
air on every side and 2 meters up.
The rooms temperature is 20 degrees Celsius.
Another probe program measured the GPU to 56 degrees Celsius and the
CPU to 66 degrees Celsius, when the shuttle was idle.
I don't know if I can trust the readings og a probe program or the
temperatures is over the threshold of the XS35GT.
I'v tryed different versions of XBMC. and found out the following:
Dharma Beta 3 = Artifacts
Dharma Beta 4 = No Artifacts
OpenELEC.tv r4432 = Artifacts
Maby you can use this information
