I recently purchased an Acer Revo and have installed XBMC on it. I would like to be able to use a remote, so I went out and bought THIS. I have plugged the IR USB in and had hoped that would be all I need, but the remote does not respond at all. I also have a media center remote from my Xbox 360. What do I need to do to get this working. Thanks.

According to http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Remote_Contr..._GP-IR02BK the Mediagate GP-IR02BK is compatible with the MS remote and should work out of the box, but whether this applies to the MG-IR01BK you bought I don't know. If it's a MCE clone it probably sends keypresses, in which case it will not work with v9.11 of XBMC but will work with current builds.

If you have access to a Windows PC you can use ShowKey (in mceremote.zip from xbmcmce.sourceforge.net) to see what the MG-IR01BK is sending.

I bought this remote and did not have to do any configuration other than plugging it into the Revo.
