everything runs fine with xbmc and linux on my atv. sometime i get a short sound break and the video stops for 1/4 sec. whenever this happens i get those strange GetSpace - get space failed from alsadirecsound.

this happens with my last 2x compiled versions. no idea if it comes form svn or somewhere else.

anyone has an idea or had the same issue?

alsa driver is 1.0.19
nvidia driver is 100.14.19

it makes no difference if sound is played over hdmi or over analog out. it hangs

sound and picture stops for 1/4 to 1/2 second.

btw: i am playing ts files. recordings from vdr. i am not sure right now if that happens on downloaded stuff too.

need testing? need a sample?

That error means there was a buffer underrun in alsa, I don't know why it happens but it's often because something else is using too many resources.

humm- its an atv box and nothing else is running. only hal and dbus are running as system services. but those should not interfere with alsa. any debugging idea?

just compiling a new build. but i dont think it is that 9420 issue. i have that for seeral weeks now. and its not every x minutes. sometimes it is not happening for 20 minutes, then it happens every few minutes.

ill try some more stuff, and report back when i know more.

I had the same problem since the official 9.11 release. (same errors in log).

I was using the 'stock' ALSA from Jaunty - and upgrading it to the latest alsa definitely helped - but didn't completely remove the errors.

I would be very interested in getting this issue nailed down - I have the feeling lots of people are running into this weird issue.
