Is there anyway to get xbmc to remember the sort method between folders?

ie. in file view I want some folders sorted by date and others by name, or in library I want main sorted by sort title but sets sorted by year.

I was sure there used to be a setting for this but can't find it and at present if I change view in a section it changes for all folders in that section.

By default XBMC remembers the view and sort information in all views. Explain EXACTLY what you are doing.
