ARG. Still doesn't work. Just installed 2.4, with the swf verification patch and I still get the same problems with both the daily show patch and hulu.

Just in case I've got a different problem than everyone else, here's what's going on for me. I'm running xbmc on an Asus eeepc 701 with leeenux v4. (based off ubuntu 10.4 or 10.10 if I'm not mistaken). I installed hulu from the bluecop repository and the daily show from this thread.

The problem with the daily show plugin is that when I select a video to play, I just get a simple error message saying the script failed.

The hulu one (yes I'm sorry if this is off topic but people here seem to be treating them as related in this thread) will let me select a video, and then just won't play it. If I leave it on the default preroll ad settings, one ad will play, the second ad will play audio but no video, then I go back to the video menu as if it's done.

...anybody know what's going on?

JpTiger, could you try watching a video again, then paste lines containing "SWFVerification" from your xbmc.log?

I have EXACTLY this same problem in both the addons, precisely as you described. Without updating anything to 2.4 though. (what are you talking about there anyway?) I run on Windows and have not the slightest idea of how to compile librtmp.....Healp?

I'm having the same problem as jpTiger.
I'm using windows 7, xbmc eden, installed the plugin and get the same errors in the log file. I also downloaded rtmpdump but am not sure what to do with it. Where do I put these files ? it doesn't have an install.
And is the patch needed for windows and is there a compiled windows version with the patch included ?

I've started using the Hulu plugin for Daily Show and Colbert Report viewing since both stopped working for me.

I rolled all the comedy central programming in free cable.

Nothing from comedy central is currently friendly for playback though.

they use swf verify2 and it isn't full supported in librtmp. there is a patch to send v1 responses and this works for many servers including comedy central. It requires compiling the librtmp yourself.

I was hoping rtmpdump would incorporate the patch but I don't think they are.

What directory is the Comedy Central stuff falling under BlueCop? I'm using the newest release and don't see one for Comedy Central.

It is part of free cable and is disable by default because it requires a manually compiled swfvfy2 patched librtmp.

You would have to open free cables _common.py in free cable and un-comment the station name to enable it.

It will play the right links if enabled. It just requires a specially patched librtmp.

no it isn't. the patch didn't exist when that was compiled.
