Using CDROM storage in XBMC
#1
Hi,
I really like the XBMC interface as it's really slick and easy to understand and gives me a lot of information about what I've got on my computer(s).
The problem is that storing all that stuff takes up too much space, we've already filled over 2TB. The quick fix I used to use was to burn the 700mb divx files I had to CDROM and then just manually put in the one I want to watch, however doing that means it will disappear or not work in XBMC.

Is there any way to have XBMC index all my content on CDs and prompt me to "Insert Disc XXXXX" when I want to watch something?

Thanks

Do you realize how much you are going to spend on CD's if you do this? I figure that you would need around 1400 CD's to back up 1TB of data. You can get a 100 pack of CD's for $17.99. This works out to $251! And think about the time to burn all those CD's!

You can get a 1TB external (USB/eSATA) drive for 79.99 or a 2TB external for 134.99 (prices checked on NewEgg, and I didn't look for bargains)
