You might want to take a look there to see if your xorg configuration is screwed up after the driver install.
You could also try the install without upgrading the Nvidia drivers, but I'm not sure if surround sound will work in this case. On one Revo in my house, I had it running w/o the Nvidia driver upgrade and it works fine, but I only have an analog audio connection on that TV.
