[LIVE] Beta 2... rights to usr/bin/xbmc
#1
Ok long story short, am trying to create a share on XBMC live to the /usr directory. Primarily to get copies of the keyboard and remote.xml files for customization (which will be put in the userdata eventually).

the xbmc account that is created by the LIVE installer does not seem to have rights...

putty - I can cd to /usr/bin... ls -a shows a xbmc and xbmc-standalone dirs but I cannot enter them...

When I add a share to just /usr (yes I installed samba server, shares to /home are working fine) it asks for a user/pass.

So I assume there is some sort of permissions/account issue. Any way I can get xbmc account access to the usr/bin/xbmc folder?

Thanks for the help

ok found my first problem... I actually need access to /usr/share/xbmc

I did a chmod 777 xbmc... The share still prompts for a user/pass (where my /home does not)

I am guessing this has to do with it being in usr/share instead of home....
